Drake’s new album just got a major co-sign.
“Man. This Album is phenomenal. Point blank,” Cole captioned a screenshot of one of the album’s 14 tracks, “Liability.”
However, not everyone was loving Drake’s new direction. Fans flooded social media with their commentary on the dance and house-inspired project, which features production from Black Coffee, Gordo, Rampa, and Alex Lustig.
“I thought Drake was finna rap his ass off. He gave us Forever 21, Hot Topic, H&M ass music,” tweeted one person, while another added, “Drake got my hips swaying like a bad bitch.”
“It’s all good if you don’t get it yet,” he said in a video that surfaced online. “That’s what we do. We wait for you to catch up.”
Drake’s seventh studio album was released Friday, just hours after his surprise announcement. In one hour, it broke the record for the biggest dance album in Apple Music history with the most first-day streams worldwide.
“It took us about six, seven months to make, maybe,” Drake said during his new SiriusXM show “Table for One.” “And something that I always wanted to do. I don’t really wanna overexplain it, I just wanna play it ’cause it’s just a bunch of music that I love.”
